Enjoy your Winters with Delicious Tawa Fish
Going by an old saying that fish are best in months with the letter R, i.e. from September to April, that’s the most favorite food of Pakistanis during the winters. Therefore as winters have almost approached almost everyone is gearing up to cook fish with a different and unique taste.
Here it is, my favorite recipe to cook fish that is most delicious. Here is the recipe, do try it at home and let us know about your views on the recipe.
Preparation Time: 20 – 25 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 – 20 minutes
Serves: 5 – 6 persons
Fish 1 kg
Salt as per taste
Garlic paste 2 tbsp
Onion 2 medium
Tomatoes 3 – 4
Crushed Red Chilli 1 tbsp
Turmeric 1 tsp
Corriander Powder 1 tbsp
Cumin Seeds 1 tbsp
Green Chillies 3 – 4
Oil as required
Cut boneless fish into thick fillets. Wash thoroughly and put in a strainer to dry.
Chop onion & tomatoes, roast & grind cumin seeds.
Make a marinade in a big bowl with salt, 1 tsp red chilli & corriander powder.
Marinate fish fillets in it & refrigerate for 15 – 20 minutes.
Heat 4 – 6 tbsp Oil on a griddle at medium heat, fry 3 -4 fillets at a time until light golden and keep aside.
Fry chopped onion, tomatoes, garlic and red chili on the same griddle. When tomatoes get half done, layer fish fillets on it & cover.
Cook on low heat while turning the fillets once or twice; when tomatoes get dry add ground cumin and green chillies.
Presentation: Serve this delicious fish with chutney & fresh homemade chappatis.
